Plot Summary
A nameless man receives an unaddressed package containing only a woman's wristwatch and return instructions. He attends a bizarre gathering for the admiration of artwork to return the item, only to discover its owner is a dazzlingly beautiful woman named Lois. He returns to the next meeting of the group, but begins to realize something is deeply wrong with the organization dubbed "the Movement." They conduct a bizarre ceremony where Lois is beaten and crawls into a dresser. The man attempts to avoid further contact, but Lois repeatedly calls him and verbally abuses him. He proposes marriage to another woman. Lois murders her, kidnaps him, and - with the help of the Movement - forces him with scissors held to his throat to marry her. After the ceremony, he is beaten by the Movement's members during sex with his new bride. They fall into a bizarre cycle: he glances at other women or greets them, Lois kills them, and they're forced to relocate. She controls him completely with physical violence and verbal abuse. When another man takes an interest in her at a Movement wedding, Lois's husband becomes enraged. He dresses in her clothes and puts her makeup on his face. The man comes calling in hopes of sleeping with Lois, only to find the husband instead. He guts the other man and disposes of the body, locks Lois in the attic, sells her possessions, and disappears into the night with only a suitcase.
