Plot Summary
When Cowan falls in love with Rose, he doesn't realize Rose's ex-husband Mark will terrorize them throughout their relationship. Enraged by the custody battle, Mark throws himself and his child off a building, claiming if he can't have his son, nobody can. His child, Alex, breaks his fall and Mark survives. He's placed into a mental institution, but heartbroken Rose dies of an overdose only a few months later. Cowan hires a contractor to find Mark for him, and he purchases a black market gun. He loved Rose and her child, and believes they deserve vengeance. Armed and ready, Cowan goes to Mark's address, prepared to get his revenge. However, he finds Mark a changed man. He's a drunk, mentally disturbed, and unemployed. Worse of all, Mark is convinced his son is haunting him. The longer Cowan talks to him, the more he realizes that killing Mark would be doing him a favor - and that's the last thing Cowan wants to do. As he leaves the building, he realizes a toy has appeared on his car's dashboard. Mark wasn't losing his mind after all. Alex really has come back to torment him for the murder.
