An elderly Hyderabadi High Court Justice, Justice Shiva Ram Murthy, moves to Boston to spend his retirement years with his daughter after his wife dies. On Christmas, he goes out for lunch with his friend of sixty-five years, Manu, a retired engineer who had moved to American some years prior. Their usual lunch spot, "Hotel Raga", is closed for the holiday. They instead eat at a Mexican fast-food joint that mistakenly serves Justice Murthy a beef burrito "special number four", breaking the principled Brahmin lifetime vegetarianism. Justice Murthy tries to find a solicitor to sue the fast-food place and ignores the advice of his friend to let it go. After he is turned down by a solicitor, he learns to come to terms with it.
