While his work at the fast food restaurant "Fat Lad" has never been a fulfilling job, when their famed potato sandwich ingredients run out and customers start to line up with coupons that can't be honored, employee Dan reaches a new low. One irate customer promises revenge for his lack of potato sandwiches. Dan is grateful when his shift ends, even more so because his attractive boss plans to come home with him. However, they quickly realize that the tires on Dan's car have been slashed and his engine destroyed by none other than the vengeful customer who visited earlier. Dan swiftly loses his car, job, and girlfriend. Years later, fresh out of prison and sleeping on the streets, Dan encounters the same customer once more. Unable to recognize him, the man asks Dan to buy his potato sandwiches for him. He's been banned from all Fat Lads, but is nonetheless desperate for his fix. Dan buys him sandwiches for weeks, but on the final day of the promotion, he scrapes some change together and purchases rat poison. With one death, Dan ends the potato sandwich promotion forever and exacts his revenge. Despite his losses, he feels there is little left for him to achieve.
