One day, the Sharpie Cake company announces that they're having a large reception, and when one guest arrives, they realize that it is for a new Sharpie recipe. Although the current recipe is popular among older generations, it has subsided in sales with the younger ones.
The guest prepares a new recipe, certain that it will be successful. When the judges taste, they are in agreement, so the management at the company asks them to come in the next day for a meeting. There, they tell them that though their recipe was popular, it has to be tested by the Sharpie Cake Crows.
One of the old Sharpie recipes is tested in a cavernous room where a hundred crows flock near the ceiling. The birds go rabid, cutting and clawing each other trying to eat the cake.
Then, they test a failed recipe, which the birds reject, instead cawing out 'Sharpie' repeatedly. They toss out the newest recipe: some birds eat it, others caw, and still more peck and claw at their fellow crow's necks.
Disgusted by the madness, the guest leaves the building, no longer invested in the competition. From now on, the guest will only make recipes based on personal preference.
