Evan and Julie anticipate a visit from Julie's obnoxious cousin, Cal, and her ex boyfriend, Ray Perris, who is now a trained boxer. When they arrive, they are both drunk and belligerent, and begin to insult Evan for his boring profession and how little money he makes. Ray says that if he hadn't left, Julie wouldn't have married Evan, so Evan tells them to leave. Cal goads Ray to beat up Evan, which he does, and leaves him him in the yard on his back after taking his shoes and letting the air out of his tires. Cal takes Julie inside. Evan, who had been very familiar with the woods since his childhood, creates a plan to get rid of them for good. He doesn't believe that the police would solve the problem, as Ray and Cal have to be afraid of him so they never come back. He leads them into the woods, traps them, chloroforms Cal, and brings Ray into a field. Ray is confused and disoriented in the dark that he can't see Evan, who crouches beyond the tree line. Evan carefully shoots a round near to Ray to spook him. Ray starts to apologize, and claims that they were only joking. Evan shoots another round and Ray tries to reason with Evan, who he believes is trying to kill him, by saying that he isn't worth going to jail for. Finally Ray makes a run for the trees, where Evan jumps him, and knocks him out. He puts both of them in his car, and drops their unconscious bodies on the side of the road a mile away. He returns to Julie, who had locked herself in her bedroom, and tells her that the men are gone. They enjoy the rest of their evening.
