Justin Bigos is author of the poetry collection Mad River (Gold Wake, 2017), as well as the chapbook Twenty Thousand Pigeons (iO, 2014). His writing appears in publications including New England Review, The Seattle Review, Ploughshares, Indiana Review, McSweeney’s Quarterly, The Best American Short Stories 2015, and The Rumpus. A son tells a series of stories, most of them about his father and stepfather. As the son describes a robbery that took place at his house in high school and his experiences with his father, a former Jehovah's Witness and current alcoholic, he begins to recall details from his childhood.
